Decades of collective experience make up our team of passionate professionals, each with their own unique set of skills and expertise. A Colorado native, Will is from a dedicated family who believes in hard work, leadership and civic involvement. The oldest of three siblings, Will has been honing his leadership skills from a young age. His early experience at Culver Military Academy paved the way for his leadership style and disciplined dedication to his pursuits. At age 17, he was promoted to Captain of his unit, directly responsible for leading 50 cadets. The cadre had identified unique leadership skills in Will and his quick ascension from cadet to captain was the fastest in school history. Will believes leadership is a skill that should constantly be honed and refined – building at every opportunity.
Will likes to be challenged. He’s a perpetual, lifelong learner, a need that is easily satisfied in the ever-changing hospitality world. Will spends his free time pursuing his outdoor passions; fly fishing, skiing, mountain biking and lacrosse. After leading his high school and college teams to many successful seasons, he continued playing lacrosse, traveling around the country and competing against the best.
Will selected Evolution Hospitality because he believes companies with a strong, active culture are the most successful. One of his favorite examples is New Belgium Brewing Company because they have demonstrated successful growth with thoughtful stewardship of associates, the brand and a laser focus on sustainability. Will also thinks New Belgium produces some of the most creative marketing today – as well as a great product.
Will and his wife Sarah are dedicated adventurers, whether it’s biking, hiking or traveling. Like most new transplants they are inspired by the abundance of lemon, avocado and orange trees that seem to be everywhere in Southern California. They are excited to be able to enjoy year-round, fresh farm-to-table fruit and vegetables, as well as growing their own. Will is a proud dad to three terrific daughters and a son who challenge and inspire him to make the world a better place.
Will’s favorite Guiding Principle is “Make it better than it was before.” A true optimist, Will always challenges conventional thinking and is passionate about improvement. It’s in his DNA. Giving up doesn’t come easy for Will. He has a different perspective on success and feels there is a big difference between achievement and potential. He cares deeply about reaching full potential – whether he’s talking about revenues or people – which also fits nicely with how we think at Evolution Hospitality.
In 1969 Dr. Romie’s dad, a brilliant physician from a small South Asian village, was recruited to relocate to the United States. After completing his additional medical training in Chicago, he and his new wife were hired by a practice in another small town – a place called Danville, IL. That’s how Dr. Romie was born and raised in the Midwest attending public schools. She’s very proud of her immigrant parents and the values they instilled in their children including the love of family and a hard work ethic. It helped Dr. Romie thrive as a female leader in a then male-dominated physician workforce of neurology and neuroscience.
She readily admits that she is a “recovering awkward girl” – also known as “geek girl” – who talked far too much for her busy parents. To redirect the chatter, Romie’s mom would send her off to read the encyclopedia, then reward her with chocolate. Even today reading and chocolate are two of Dr. Romie’s favorite things.
It was obvious from an early age Romie was destined for a life mission. Her parents firmly believed education was one of the keys to success, working hard and serving others were two more. Like her father, she completed her medical training and began practicing as a neurologist – overworked and stressed every day. A life-threatening disease and plenty of soul searching changed Dr. Romie’s thinking about what her future should be, and a new mission was born: to heal through a combination of brain health, psychology and mindfulness. In her own words: “She became a meditation advocate with a side of sass and soul.”
As Evolution Hospitality’s Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Romie is responsible for leading the organization to better wellness – treating individuals as a whole to nourish and heal mind, body and soul. She has a profound respect for Evo’s leadership style – to serve others – and appreciates its focus on associate wellness. The passion seen, and felt, at all levels of the organization to embrace wellness concepts and be the best they can, makes Dr. Romie’s mission well-matched to Evolution Hospitality’s very similar values.
Dr. Romie’s favorite Guiding Principle is “Do everything with gratitude and humility.” She believes you need to “adopt an attitude of gratitude” - being grateful for all the blessings you have been given - as the foundation for optimal wellness, happiness and success. We know one thing for sure: At Evo we are very grateful to have Dr. Romie in our lives.
A self-described “hotel dork,” Kathleen went to the Hotel School at Cornell University with one goal in mind – a career in hospitality. Kathleen loves working alongside so many industry experts to solve challenges and issues as they arise, learning from each one along the way. Driven to succeed, Kathleen’s positive attitude and boundless energy never ceases even in the face of the most daunting task. Not one to get complacent, she loves taking on new responsibilities and learning new tasks.
It’s that same energy and optimism with which Kathleen tackles her daily life. Originally from Boston, she travels back to Bean Town regularly to visit her parents and younger sister, Erin, and says she has close friends all over the East Coast. Always on the go, when Kathleen isn’t racking up air miles, she’s most at home outdoors, especially at the beach or in the ocean. In her off time she ditches the business casual look for her favorite Lululemon athletic garb in pursuit of any kind of physical activity. Whether she’s running, hiking, or biking, exercise isn’t just something she does, it’s who she is.
Kathleen’s favorite Guiding Principle is “Celebrate success wildly” because she believes that it’s important to enjoy your accomplishments and thinks that the key to a happy life is balance. “Life’s too short to be serious all the time,” Kathleen stated. We agree.
At age 12, Scott determined he wanted to help people experience their dream vacations. Clipboard in hand, he would accompany his dad on trips and get behind the scenes at huge hotels, making notes on how to run a hotel when he was in charge. This early passion led to an undergraduate degree at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Initially, Scott focused on the strategic position of optimizing demand as he pursued a career in revenue management. Wanting to expand his impact beyond that of driving topline revenue, Scott shifted to a role on the Operations team and now oversees the T2 portfolio as well as Evolution’s preopening hotel efforts.
Outside of travel, there are things Scott is passionate about that are beyond his control. Name any sport and Scott will detail stats of his favorite team. His goal is to spark this same passion for competitive sports in his four daughters and son, providing them with the life lesson of what it's like to be an avid fan of something. Scott also finds healing and rejuvenation in the ocean and beach, hiking and camping, and most recently, road cycling. It's in the simple things he finds most pleasure, including causes that are important to him and his family, such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Children’s Alopecia Project.
Scott's favorite Guiding Principle is "Test it... don't be afraid to fail." Scott feels this Guiding Principle challenges the team to jump in with both feet, to be bold and decisive, since great reward does not come without great risk.

Away from the hustle and bustle of hotel management, Gary enjoys a fulfilling family life with his wife Maria and their two children, Niomi and Max, along with their dog Cooper. Now based in Charleston, South Carolina, the family embraces the great outdoors, from beach outings to motorcycle rides. Gary's favorite Guiding Principle, "Do Everything with Gratitude and Humility," reflects his international experiences and the importance he places on being grateful and humble. With plans to eventually retire on a sailboat, Gary's journey in hospitality is as adventurous as his personal life.

Strategic analysis is what drives Evolution Hospitality, and Ed Martinez is who drives Evolution Hospitality's strategic analysis. The proclaimed king of Excel spreadsheets with a highly defined understanding of technology and systems, Ed is part of the foundation of any new tool that helps the field work smarter, faster, better. Revenue management is also part of Ed’s DNA. He always goes the extra mile to grow his revenue management team of professionals, some of the best in the industry. He encourages each of them to test cutting-edge ideas even if they fail, because innovation is one of the most important keys to success in the ever-changing revenue management world.
To call Ed a perfectionist doesn't quite capture his true personality - anal retentive, compulsive, maybe even a little neurotic, would be closer to the mark. Disorganization drives Ed crazy; like Excel, he thinks in columns, rows and numbers. For him Mr. 00010010 is far cooler than 007. He is currently hooked on Sudoku and is not satisfied until he completes his daily puzzle accurately, without corrections or side notes.
Ed's a family man and his single most important focus is being the best husband and father he can be. He is also passionate about providing his wife and two children with warm and wonderful memories of shared adventures and experiences; a tradition he hopes will live on through future generations. He likes to capture these moments in photographs and has a surprisingly creative eye for great shots.
Ed's favorite Guiding Principle is: "Test it... don't be afraid to fail." Because Evolution Hospitality allows employees to test new ideas, Ed feels this Guiding Principle has truly been the foundation of his success.

A south Orange County native who grew up surfing, Eric knew Evolution was a great cultural fit as soon he walked into the office and noticed longboards hanging on the walls and surf videos on repeat in the lobby. Eric and his wife Kristina are avid adventurers who love the beach and mountains alike. They are proud parents to two young boys with seemingly endless amounts of energy. They reside in San Clemente, not far from the Evo office, and on the weekends balance their time between surfing with the kids, juggling youth sports and long relaxing hikes.

Gus is Greek. He left his home in 1970 as a very young man and arrived in the United States seeking the American dream. Things weren't easy at first, but through very hard work, honesty, dedication, and a passion for food, wine and celebration Gus has accomplished his dream. As Evolution Hospitality's Vice President of Food & Beverage, Gus spends each and every day doing what he loves most. He loves to help orchestrate a great party or serve up a delicious meal, but Gus also enjoys the learning opportunities associated with taking on new hotels, meeting new people, and fixing things that can benefit from his expertise. First stop for Gus during any new property visit is the kitchen and back of the house; it's where he feels most at home.
Gus is also a perfect example of Evolution's mantra: "It's not how we work, it's how we live™." Food and wine are equally important to him outside of work. Gus and his wife Karrie enjoy trying new restaurants but when he really wants to relax Gus heads to his half-acre garden in Temecula to tend his rose bushes, pear and olive trees. Gus is equally passionate about his three children: Jordan, Chase and Acacia. And in a brilliant move to combine both of his loves, each of his children is named after one of his favorite wines or wineries: Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, Chase Cellars, and Acacia Vineyard.
Honesty is part of Gus' inner fiber and one of the reasons he really enjoys working with Evolution Hospitality. Having the freedom to be yourself at work and to speak your mind freely are as important to Gus as having plenty of opportunity to grow and the tools you need to do your job.
Gus' favorite Guiding Principle is "None of us is as good as all of us." Growing up Gus was rated one of the top soccer players in his state. His soccer coach continuously stressed that success was a team effort, not an individual thing - and the message stuck. Gus knows his success today is directly related to the great teams he works alongside at each of Evolution Hospitality's properties and is thankful to his coach for teaching him such an important lifelong lesson.

College is typically the time when most people discover a passion or a career. The same was true for Mark, except the lightbulb didn’t happen during a class or lecture. While pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mark worked as a valet parker at a nearby hotel exposing him to the hospitality industry. That’s when his love affair with the hotel business began.
After college Mark moved around quite a bit and lived in Hilton Head, Atlanta, Palm Springs, Miami, Los Angeles and San Diego, which helped prepare him well for a career at Evolution. Working in operations, Mark gets to experience many sides of the industry and admits he enjoys the lifestyle aspect of it. “Hospitality is fun,” Mark said. “We aren’t saving lives, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.” When not having fun at work, Mark enjoys playing golf or spending time with his family. A proud father of two (son Dane and daughter Kylie), he loves taking family trips and exposing his kids to new places and of course, new hotels.
Always the optimist, Mark’s favorite Guiding Principle is “Do everything with gratitude and humility.”

Her interests are as diverse as her career, from photography and hiking to enjoying an Oregon Pinot or an Old Fashioned.

Darcy didn’t set out to have a career in hospitality as she originally wanted to teach the sixth grade. Early in her career, while working her way through college, Darcy had an opportunity to conduct leadership development training and was immediately hooked. She realized that she was passionate about training, coaching, and helping adults learn and grow more than anything else she had previously done. As a result of this experience, Darcy shifted her focus from working with children to working with adults.
A Southern California native, Darcy is drawn to the beach. She believes that a vacation doesn’t count unless it involves an ocean, a comfortable hammock, her Kindle, and a drink with an umbrella in it. Her perfect Sunday is a leisurely breakfast with her husband, Larry, followed by a trip to Huntington Beach Dog Beach with their two pups, Lucky and Lola. Darcy’s fortunate to have extended family nearby and enjoys spending time hanging out at the pool, playing a competitive (or sometimes, not so competitive) game of pool volleyball and getting together for impromptu barbeques. During her downtime, you can find Darcy reading, listening to country music, taking a Pilates class or indulging in a pedicure or massage.
Darcy’s desire to coach others and help people see things from a different perspective pairs nicely with Evo’s philosophy of helping people reach their full potential. “It’s important that each of us practice and demonstrates the behaviors we value as an organization,” she said. It’s not surprising that her favorite Guiding Principle is “Lead by example and walk your talk.”
Michelle Allen is a highly accomplished professional in the hospitality industry with 15 years of extensive experience. She loves the creative freedom that lifestyle properties offer, but her passion lies in revenue management, which she compares to detective work: identifying issues, crafting potential solutions, implementing strategies, and witnessing the impact on the bottom line.
Her journey began at 22 years old when she became a Director of Revenue, showcasing her eagerness to learn and excel in the field. Over the years, Michelle has held various leadership roles, including Area Director, Regional Director, and most recently, RVP in 2022. She takes immense pride in her contributions to developing tools, supporting integration committees, and driving improvements for the larger organization.
Throughout her career, Michelle has been recognized for her outstanding achievements. She has been awarded prestigious accolades such as the Voice of the Brand by Evolution in 2019 and Excellence in Revenue Management in 2016. Additionally, she has been nominated multiple times for MVP of the Year and Revenue Management Professional of the Year. Michelle embodies ambition, thoughtfulness, and dependability, traits that have contributed to her success.
As one of seven siblings, Michelle understands and appreciates the importance of family. She is committed to creating lasting memories with her own family, which includes her husband William of 23 years and their two children, Carter and Jonathan. Together they love to go hiking in Colorado. She also adores her cat, Deuce, who holds a special place in her heart as her first “child.” She lives by the words of Nelson Mandela: “It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.”
Jacqulyn Street brings over 9 years of experience to her role as Regional Director of Revenue. Throughout her career, Jacqulyn has developed a passion for the lifestyle sector, with a significant portion of her portfolio dedicated to unique properties. Her extensive hands-on experience and dedication have propelled her to success in the industry.
Before joining Evolution in 2014, Jacqulyn’s journey began as a front desk agent at Embassy Suites in Temecula at the age of 19. She quickly climbed the ranks and later found her passion in revenue management. Jacqulyn continued to thrive, working in operations and revenue management across various hotels in Southern California and consulting for different companies until she was promoted to Regional Director of Revenue with TPG Hospitality. Throughout her career, she has become known for her loyalty, passion, and efficient work style.
Outside of work, Jacqulyn treasures family time and enjoys traveling. Her favorite destination is Greece with its crystal blue waters. She is happily married to Travis, her husband of 15 years, and mom to her two children, Makenzie and Micah—along with her four-year-old dog, Brodie.
She draws inspiration from her favorite quote, “It won’t last forever,” which serves as a reminder to persevere through hard times and appreciate the good moments. Jacqulyn believes in the power of listening and collaboration to foster personal growth and success.
Mark Becker is a hospitality veteran with over 20 years of experience. Starting his career as a front desk agent with Radisson in Sacramento, Mark quickly developed a passion for the industry. He worked his way through various roles in rooms operations and eventually found his calling in revenue management while working for Hilton Worldwide. Mark’s journey took him up and down the west coast, from Berkeley to Lake Tahoe, Seattle, and ultimately San Diego, where he fell in love with the city and decided to make it his home.
During his six and a half years with Evo, Mark expanded his knowledge by working in several of Evo’s San Diego portfolio hotels, as well as properties in Northern California and Arizona including Marriott, Hyatt, and independent brands while embracing the “test it, don't be afraid to fail” mentality. Mark’s dedication and commitment to continuous growth led him to complete his Certified Revenue Management Executive (CRME) certification.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys life to the fullest. He can be found unwinding at the gym, enjoying quiet moments on the beach, or hosting barbecues with friends on his patio. His love for travel has taken him to five of the seven continents, including memorable visits to Machu Picchu, Turkey, and the Great Barrier Reef. Mark cherishes his close-knit family and often embarks on vacations with all 30+ members. With a hunger for experiencing diverse cuisines, he enjoys everything from fine dining to hole-in-the-wall joints and food carts. Above all, he believes in being his authentic self while enjoying life’s adventures.
Born in a small town in northwest France, Elodie’s desire to see the world was evident at an early age. As a young girl, she would take on part-time jobs so she could attend summer camps in regions of France she hadn’t yet explored. That spirit of adventure only intensified during her university years as she saw more of the world while taking on internships in Vietnam and Malta. After graduation, she jumped at the chance to move to London and start her career in hospitality sales.
While she loved her time in London, she couldn’t resist an opportunity to move to the United States when she was offered a job in Los Angeles. She continued to hone her craft while working in iconic hotels in Beverly Hills and Downtown Los Angeles, before getting an opportunity at an up and coming hotel in Marina del Rey. It was during a competitor set visit that she locked eyes with the man who would eventually become her husband. The two knew they were made for each other as he shared her passion for collecting passport stamps as well.
When not visiting her family in France, Elodie spends her days terrorizing bike path visitors with the sound of a ringing bell. Evenings you'll find Elodie hosting dinner parties where even if the new recipe she tried didn’t work out there’s always champagne.
Her favorite Guiding Principle is “listen” because she believes that is the ultimate way to show “respect, humility, curiosity, empathy, and inclusion in a relationship.” She adds, “Active listening can be challenging at times especially in a digital environment as it requires an open mind and focus. I believe everyone deserves to be heard and practicing this guiding principle has made our organization even stronger.”
Raised in a military family, Pamela was fortunate to travel a lot as a child, which only fueled her passion for exploration and the hospitality industry. Her love of travel hasn’t waned, and she admits she’ll go anywhere with a beach, especially if she can take her two dogs. When not soaking up the warmth of the sun, Pamela enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for a bike ride, and boating on the Pacific Ocean.
Working alongside forward-thinking, visionary leaders is what drew Pamela to Evolution Hospitality. She admits she’s inspired by the corporate culture and loves that everyone is fueled by a passion for business, service, and a quest for excellence. But her favorite thing about the industry is getting to be creative. “Hospitality is a product. It’s an experience, and I love dreaming up new ways to make it enjoyable for customers,” Pamela stated.

Her favorite podcast is "Smartless," and she believes in the power of a good high-five. Tiffany is passionate about causes like AIDS, Trans Rights, and reproductive health accessibility. Her favorite Guiding Principle? "None of us is as good as all of us," a testament to her team-oriented approach to work.
